Description

A question we get regularly: "What's the difference between a crupper and breeching?" The honest answer: it depends on your horse, your terrain, and how serious the problem is.

A crupper works well for mild forward saddle movement on gentle slopes. Breeching wraps around the hindquarters and distributes braking force across a much wider area — it's the right choice for steeper terrain, heavier loads, draft horses, mules, and animals where a crupper alone isn't enough.

If you're riding mountain trails, pulling any kind of load, or dealing with a round-barreled mule that sends your saddle forward no matter what you try — breeching is worth taking seriously.

Handmade by Amish master craftsmen. Premium leather, reinforced stitching, riveted stress points, stainless steel hardware. Hand stamping matches your CRS saddle. Available in Black, Chestnut, and Show Brown.

Made to order — please allow 4-6 weeks.

Not sure whether you need a crupper, breeching, or both? Call us and describe your terrain and your animal. We'll give you an honest answer.
